Mathania, is a type of hot pepper, or Capsicum annuum. Named after a village in Rajasthan, whose dry, hot climate is ideal for chili cultivation, Mathania Chili is one of the finest red chili varieties in India. It has a pungent, sharp heat, with distinct flavor and strong red color. The average fruit length of this variety is approx. 15-18 cm.  It is this chili that gives its signature color to classic Rajasthani dishes like Laal Maas and Ker sangri.
