The Prime Rib primal cut is where we find the most tender, flavorful and desirable steaks in a steer/cow. In layman’s words, the Prime Rib is where the flavor is at. The Prime Rib is the undisputed KING of large cuts of beef. 

Prime Rib is consumed heavily around holidays, but its an extremely versatile cut of beef and can be cooked in many different ways.  More importantly, Prime Rib is the most eye-catching, mouth-watering piece of beef you can serve a guest. 

The Prime Rib is basically the “whole” rib eye muscle, which is a muscle that doesn’t get much exercise, so it yields some of the tenderest meat. It can develop excellent marbling. 

One of the reasons Prime Rib is such a popular holiday dish is that it has generous servings.

Prime Rib does need to be marinated, simply because its a very thick cut of beef. After that, whether you prefer to grill it or roast it, its up to you. Both will be extremely tasty.

Given the crazy prices of the market we reached out to a small but excellent Wagyu Farm in the state of Texas and negotiated having their Prime Ribs for the holidays. They raise what they call “Grand Master Steers”, these are Akaushi Wagyu that grade BMS6+.

These steers are fed on a controlled diet and roam freely. They are raised on grass and finished on grain. Once processed, they are wet aged for 30-35 days to add even more tenderness.

Weight Ranges?

A Prime Rib is a substantial cut of beef, especially in its bone-in form. To offer smaller portions, we split the full cut into halves. Since a Prime Rib consists of seven ribs, the halves won’t be exactly equal. One half will have four bones, while the other will have three. As a result, the four-bone half will weigh slightly more due to the extra bone, but both halves contain a comparable amount of beef.

We price each piece at the lower end of its weight range. For example, if a roast is listed as 8-10 lbs, it is priced based on 8 lbs. This means that while your piece may fall on the lighter side of the range, you are always receiving the value you paid for.

NOTE: MAY BE DELIVERED FROZEN (If it’s a problem, let us know and we will get a non-frozen piece). Note that even if frozen you can thaw it in cold water very quickly with no loss on quality or flavor.
